6 UK Cops Accused of Waterboarding Pot Suspects

Six Scotland Yard officers have been suspended over allegations of “waterboarding” drug suspects.
The men are said to have pushed the suspects’ heads repeatedly into buckets or bowls of water in a bid to force them to reveal the locations of drugs.
The accusations suggest they were simulating the notorious “waterboard” torture techniques employed against al Qaeda suspects by CIA staff.
The incidents are said to have taken place at the homes of four young men arrested on suspicion of drug offences at properties in North London in November
(via UK TimesOnline) The part of the inquiry focusing on alleged police brutality has been taken over by the Independent Police Complaints Commission. It is examining the conduct of six officers connected to drug raids in November in which four men and a woman were arrested at addresses in Enfield and Tottenham. Police said they found a large amount of cannabis and the suspects were charged with importation of a Class C drug. The case was abandoned four months later when the Crown Prosecution Service said it would not have been in the public interest to proceed. It is understood that the trial, by revealing the torture claims, would have compromised the criminal investigation into the six officers.

We are the most hunted minority in the world and have to endure every sadistic thing the immoral minority can think of.

I know man. I’m born and raised in the UK, and the government and media won’t shut the fuck up about this “super skunk” that is supposedly driving the little kiddies insane.
If the media is so sure that our streets are awash with weed “20X stronger than average cannabis plants”, then they should direct me as to where exactly it is: not a single pothead I know has a clue what these fuckers are on. Maybe they took all the reeeaaally psychosis causing weed for themselves?

I had a hard time believe this story too until I read it myself. What is going on in England ? Did these cops take a page from Bush’s torture handbook ?
What the hell is all this talk about super ’skunk’ pot that only seems to be in England ? They showed some in the National Geographic Channel movie “Marijuana Nation” and it looks like brown hash or dirty mexican weed(not being racist). Ive talked to people in England and they dont even know what the govt is calling “skunk”, other than what you would find in your average Cali med shop. Did some evil scientist genetically make some bad cannabis or is it just your average good Cali bud ? Does anyone know ?
“Skunk” is supposedly Super Pot 2.0 that is 7x, 20x, or even 400x more powerful than the pot in the 1970’s. Or what most people refer to as “pot”. Like you said, your average good Cali bud.
As the right wing loonies here in the U.S. would say, “Torture is necessary when there may be a ticking bong about to go off somewhere in the city.”

I’m all for marijuana reform but JESUS CHRIST this website is like the fox news of marijuana reform!
Marijuana is a CLASS B DRUG. These men were not waterboarded because of marijuana! Do your research before you start spouting nonsensical propaganda. This doesn’t help Marijuana reform, it makes the people fighting for it look like a bunch of brainless idiots… You know, the stereotype mass media makes US out to be to keep marijuana ILLEGAL IN THIS COUNTRY.

In all sincerity I am a proud cannabis consumer, but no wonder why anyone actually making an impact on marijuana reform distances themselves as far away from NORML as possible. This is laughable.

Police said they found a large amount of cannabis and the suspects were charged with importation of a Class C drug.” Did you forget that Britain didn’t raise cannabis up to a Class B drug until this January? Did you fail to understand the concept of “blockquoting” which indicates that it was London’s Sky News that referred to the technique as “waterboarding”.
