FREE MONEY! (or at least the CLE Scholarship Equivalent).
CONORML is pleased to announce that the Hunter S. Thompson Scholarship is available for the second year.
The NORML Legal Committee annual Aspen Conference (focusing on cannabis CLE) is scheduled for June 4th and 5th, 2009, at the GANT. Colorado NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws), is presenting the scholarship, which covers lodging and the conference registration fee, to an attorney who, by written submission, demonstrates both a desire to improve skills related to cannabis in the courts (criminal, medical, and more), as well as a need for financial assistance in attending the conference. The value of the scholarship is approximately $1000.00.
To learn more about the Aspen conference, click here.. Some of the finest defense attorneys in the United States have been coming to Aspen for many years to learn, to enjoy Aspen, and to do so at VERY reasonable rates (based at the GANT).
Because of the generally uptight nature of the CONORML Board members, there are of course very strict rules. Submission is by fax, mail, Email, or carrier pigeon. The scholarship is awarded by the CONORML Board, Warren Edson, Steven Wells, Lauren Maytin, Lenny Frieling, and Jim Kahn. Steve Wells will receive all submissions. The submission word count rule will be strictly enforced. Submissions may be of any length.
Please apply with Steve Wells, swells@conorml.org (303) 725-0774 by April 15, midnight (why not?) and we hope to announce the recipient of the scholarship on April 20th, 2009.
