Originally from Jamaica, Sugar Bear immigrated to New York, where he continues to pursue his passion for music and entertaining.

Sugar Bear feeds off the energy that performing gives him.

Over the years, Sugar Bear has crafted his own musical style and lyrical delivery of roots reggae music.

After recording and producing a number of songs, Sugar Bear established his own record label which has released his latest singles.

Music: Urban – ‘Substance Abuse’ by Pyrx

Rapping up Urban music week is the popular rap band from California, Pyrx, with their song ‘Substance Abuse’.

Pyrx high energy music is a mix of hip hop, rock and reggae.

The group have toured the US and have had national exposure in more than a dozen well known magazines.

Pyrx have performed with such greats as Stephen Marley, Redman, Eek A Mouse, The Kottonmouth Kings and many more.

In 2008 Pyrx received the Best Undergound Artist Doobie Award from High Times Magazine.

Pyrx recently performed at Seattle Hemp Fest and with reggae’s well known star Collie Buddz.

They are currently preparing for the great ‘Reggae Rising Festival’.

Today’s Urban music is from Blazin with his song, ‘Merkaverse’.

Blazin, from the UK, is big in the urban music scene.

He has performed with well known artists across the UK and hosts and the monthly ‘Urban Sensation Nights’.

Blazin in the first rapper to perform at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London.

He says, “I want to be the first UK Rap artist to breakthrough into the mainstream!”

Blazin is well known for his larger than life, energy filled stage performances.

His popularity is clear, reaching the top ten unsigned artists on myspace and the myspace charts with each song.

Blazin is soon releasing his first solo mixtape under the new record label ‘British Urban Development’ (‘B.U.D’)

We begin the urban music special with ‘Welcome to Holland’ by Lionart, nominated in 2007 Marijuana Music Awards.

Lionart are from Birmingham in the UK and are avid marijuana legalization supporters.
