(Christian Science Monitor) The federal government has limited resources to fight drugs, and funds should not be wasted on prosecuting users and providers of medical marijuana who comply with state laws, the Obama administration said this week.
While this argument may indeed seem a sensible prioritizing of federal effort and dollars, the White House and the public should realize it comes with a cost.
That cost is Washington’s tacit approval of state-sanctioned medical marijuana, which the drug’s proponents will take as a green light to push even harder for their ultimate goal: full legalization of marijuana use and distribution.
Backers would like to see the buying and selling of pot regulated and taxed much like alcohol and tobacco. Their patient and well-funded route to this goal is through the states, with one avenue being state legalization of medical marijuana.
All well and good. The problem is, the line between legal and illegal regarding marijuana is fading year by year. The pro-pot groups would rub it out altogether. For the sake of a clear-thinking and healthy America, that must not be allowed to happen.
My favorite logical flaw with this reasoning is that:
a) the feds ease up on prosecuting states for medical use;
b) cannabis activists push harder for legalization;
c) so the problem is… that the people will then vote for legalization?
So, you’re admitting that the only way you can keep the people from legalizing pot is by prosecuting sick people? You’re admitting that if the people of a state experiment with legalization for a small segment of the population, they won’t find enough problems with it to oppose on a wider basis. Or they may actually find some benefits from legalization? In other words, you can only manage to keep America clear-thinking and healthy by keeping them ignorant of cannabis and putting them in cages for using it?
By the way, when does that “well-funded” start trickling on down to the Stash?

I am a Bible Christian. We are not recognized by any Church or Government….Thank God! The bible says “GOD gave man every herb bearing seed…” and I will NOT let the humans TAX what GOD gave me. So that they can use the money to promote whatever evil project they want. It cost about $50 an ounce if you buy from street dealers, I grow my own for about .17 cents an ounce (I DO NOT SELL IT). If the FEDs tax it, it will cost $100 to $200 an ounce. The government has run this country into the ground with their money schemes. Just say NO! (To taxation).

“GOD gave man every herb bearing seed…”
So, I don’t need a “Doctor” for permission (or a marijuana critic).
Christian Marijuana is a “Bible Christian” website.
We are not recognized by any Church or Government….

Valid medicinal value, it’s a victimless crime, the War on Drugs WAY too costly, too many arrests for simple possession, tax it and use the money to pay for health insurance and to reduce the deficit. Need I say more?
Woodstock Universe supports legalization of Marijuana for a number of reasons. Check them out and vote in our poll “Should marijuana be legalized?” at http://woodstockuniverse.com
Current poll results: 96% for legalization and 4% opposed. Add your vote. Poll runs through October.

‘For the sake of a clear-thinking and healthy America, that must not be allowed to happen.’
Oh please, CSM, is that the best you got? How much less clear-thinking are the millions of Americans who die as a result of drunk driving accidents, or those who suffer from lung cancer?
Still, while this is big news, it has been portrayed as bigger than it actually is. since dispensaries aren’t even completely protected by this law, med MJ users have to resort to buying from dealers.

Gotta love the Christian Science Monitor. Or maybe not.
Christian Science almost killed one of my favorite professors. Seriously. He was a boy and sick with jaundice. His family was Christian Scientist. They didn’t believe in doctors or conventional medicine, they believed in faith healers.
Anyway, the mother ended up taking her child to the doctor and several family members stopped speaking to her. If the mother had obeyed the relatives (which included her own mother), my favorite professor would have died in childhood.
Bottom line: Christian Science kills far more people than marijuana.
I still don’t think that we should ban Christian Science.
What about all thoes herbs and seeds and such they talk about in that book they all read to each other? I would think that a publication that uses the word “christian” as part of its’ title would have done a little research on something as pertinent to their existence as THE BIBLE.
But no, they simply go on with the standard party line propaganda that even the party is beginning to find ridiculous.
You just don’t understand their language. Clear thinking and healthy in their tongue means misled and addicted to pain medication.
