Who hasn’t exclaimed that at some point in their life?
Oh, you mean the Daily Audio Stash? Well… Yesterday’s installment of the program was impossible due to my 10hr drive (13hr with rest area naps included) from Berkeley following the Americans for Safe Access fundraising party, which was held somewhere in a different dimension in a steep canyon outside Oakland. Then I had three hours to sleep and two hours to then write my keynote address at the Artists for Obama rally in Portland (NORML’s non-partisan nature prevents me from posting it here, click here if you’d like to watch it from my site.)
Today’s installment of the Daily Audio Stash was impossible due to me finally sleeping 16hrs after four straight days of 4hrs or less each night, then the time needed to unpack and reset the studio and capture 224 GB of video from the panels (it takes some time to read and write to the hard drive from digital tape). (Dr. Mitch tells me I need to take better personal care of myself to avoid activist burnout. You’ll hear that in an upcoming panel from the conference…)
But tomorrow you’ll get your Wednesday edition of the podcast. As we unload these videos and I chop up some of the audio, I’ll present highlights of the conference in the 2nd interview segment of the podcast, with our regularly-scheduled interviews in our 1st segment. Plus you’ll get the latest Hemp Headlines and some more great music.
Also, if you were in attendance at NORML CON and have any great photos or video to share, let me know by emailing stash@norml.org. I’m building a master archive page of all the great Berkeley photos and events, which you’ll be able to find in the right sidebar of “Important Stash”. You can also get the videos to share through the National NORML YouTube Channel. Finally, look in the Tag Cloud for “NORML CON 2008″ and you’ll find all the posts from before, during, and after the conference.
Thanks for the update Russ, glad to have you back – take care of your health. Burnout would be a bad thing for the cause
