marijuana can’t be considered a mild intoxicant, wouldn’t it have to be toxic to intoxicate? :thcyum:

    AMEN to that!
I’d like to go on record and say that marijuana helped me to quit smoking cigarettes. Cold turkey.
I used to smoke just under a pack a day. Most of my friends still smoke cigs, I play in a band- in smokey bars- and I haven’t had the slightest craving in the four months since I put them down. I don’t even feel the urge to drink as much, either. Maybe a couple of cold ones, once in a while, but that’s it.
My point is, whether or not it’s legal, I’m going to use marijuana. And, I’m pretty sure everybody else is, as well. We all have our reasons- from medicinal to recreational- to use it, and we’re gonna do it anyway. Just like the article said, “Look back in history as far as you want and you’ll always find evidence of this demand”.
Well, thinking on the future, we all know that marijuana is never going away. And, when my child- who is not gonna be a child forever- gets to make that decision herself, I don’t want her to have to deal with any shady characters, and I DAMN sure don’t want her getting dealt with by the Federal henchmen.
Let’s ensure a safe future for everybody, and LEGALIZE MARIJUANA NOW!

Regarding the elimination of tobacco. I was approached recently by a friend at a local Powwow I attended who knew that my wife and I had grown tobacco in the past for ceremonial purposes. He wanted to know if I’d be interested in growing several acres at once to be processed into smoking tobacco for him to take “on the road” to sell from his vehicle. This was in response to the recent tax increases on cigarettes so imagine the underground market that would instantly be created if cigarettes were prohibited entirely.
