Studies tell us that about 10 million Americans are regular marijuana smokers, which makes it more than a little likely that your active dating life will present you with these questions:
- Are you willing to date someone who is a regular marijuana user?
- If so, how much is too much? Are you fine with the weekend toker? The “I only smoke if offered” casual user?
- What is it about marijuana use that makes it a deal breaker for you? Is it the stereotype that pot smokers are lazy? Is it the illegality? Do you believe that it is a gateway drug?
- What if the marijuana is for medicinal purposes? Is that okay?
- If you are a marijuana smoker, when do you share these details in a new relationship?

I’m married, so I don’t get to play, but if I did, these would be my answers:
- I wouldn’t be likely to date someone who was not a regular marijuana user. The non-tokin’ gal who can hang with my crowd comfortably is a very rare creature.
- “Too much” is when she smokes so much she starts to dip into my stash.
- Marijuana is only a deal-breaker for me if she considers my use a deal-breaker for her.
- After age 40, all marijuana use is medicinal.
- Well, if the big friggin’ pot leaf on my hat doesn’t introduce the topic on the first blind date, she must really be a blind date.
P.S. Check out the awful schwag in the joint in eHarmony’s photo. That’s a deal-breaker!
