Peter Fabok is an ambient electronic music producer from Budapest, Hungary. He’s been making music since 2004 and has self-released albums since the 2005 founding of the Tangram project — with the exception of one officially released on Karmatronic Records at home and abroad — and is currently debuting tracks one by one from current album “Vermillion” as he plays with the synth, new wave, and downtempo genres. Recording in his own Afterglow Studio, Peter receives substantial Internet press and Internet radio airplay. He has created music for short films, advertisements, and a Hungarian online game as well.
Tangram is becoming known for making family-friendly electronica and associated media which is still quite subversively trippy. Aiming to provide a “new and special experience in lounge, ambient, & other electronic musical styles”, this is attempted via live audio-visual concert performances with art created by himself with the moniker “Elore Nezz!! Visual Group”. He also seems to have philosophically chosen to distribute all of his music (except a “clinically tested one-hour music to help you sleep well”) for free or a voluntary donation.
“Pandora Connection” is off of the “Highway Ambience” album. Ambient with a shoegazer feel, this ethereal piece contains spacey, haunting female vocals, using the singer’s voice as an instrument rather than a tool for linguistics. Peter has stated that he “tries to give a relaxing feel with all of his music” and he has done so here. This is a connection one doesn’t have to make behind closed doors.
Check out Tangram on his website, Soundcloud, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, YouTube, and a blog entirely in Hungarian.
