I am the producer of The NORML Network, the host of the NORML SHOW LIVE and The NORML Stash Blog, and NORML's Outreach Coordinator. I'm married, live in Portland, Oregon, and I am a registered medical marijuana caregiver in this state. I've worked days as an IT geek and nights as a professional musician. Previously, I have been the host of my own political talk radio show on satellite radio. I've been the High Times "Freedom Fighter of the Month" and I travel across the country to educate people on marijuana reform. I've dedicated my life to bringing an end to adult marijuana prohibition and re-legalizing cannabis hemp, and I'm honored to be chosen by NORML to give voice to the Marijuana Nation and to speak for those who can't speak up.

What beats it all is that this rejection of the drug war mantra is being made by a Tennessee Rep. Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) has also introduced the Mickey Wright Act, to examine the racial disparities in our criminal justice system.

    He really gets it.

I never realize until now that breast milk was my gateway to drinking beer. Life finally makes sense. :whoa:

@spof: very well put..i couldnt have said it better..i hope and pray that this will indeed spark a new wave of progress and breaking the lies

  13. MrSpof

    My email to Congressman Cohen:

    Sir,

I watched with great satisfaction your questioning of FBI Director Mueller. Thank you so much for holding him to task regarding progress on our southern border in regards to immigration and drug trafficking. I particularly enjoyed you reminding the Director that the gateway theory is a fallacy.

I am not a resident of Tennessee as I have noted in my personal information. Rest assured, sir, that regardless of my state of residence you most certainly represented me very well indeed.

    Thank you!

  14. Mr.420

LMAO! i just re-watched and i realized..is it just me or does the FBI dick actually look and sound :stoned: ??

  15. norml.lee

WOW!!!! That was brilliant! I wish more people in politics had the balls to stand up and say it like it is… Brilliant!

  16. Tyler

If only everyone thought like him in Washington. Its amazing the buzz right now for regulating marijuana, I hope it never goes away. If it does, it will never happen.

  17. DPS3Putt

Can you believe it? A politician with the balls to tell it like it is. Maybe this will start a new trend, intelligent, rational debate based on fact instead of prohibitionist propaganda. I will definitely be writing to Rep. Cowen to let him know that I am a tax paying voter that appreciates his efforts.
    :2thumb:

  18. Mr.420

WOW! that calls 4 a celebratory :bongin: i must agree with russ we could actually have a chance with this debate, if they all go that way which they will cuz the facts are there now theres no escaping and agreeing with WakeUpDead when there put in a position like that they cant ramble on and dodge questions! yes victory is in there can u smell it lol or maybe its the smoke i just blew..lol oh well atleast it still smells good!

  19. WakeUpDead

WOW, I’m totally blown away? When did this happen? Did CNN run this on TV?
I see, when these Prohibitionists are forced to tell the truth and can’t ramble or talk over people they speak the truth and facts! This totally verifies our “no deaths from Cannabis” position!
We should all write the Congressman and thank him for letting truth and facts run this interview/hearing. I hope he just opened a can of worms and we see some major press and true debating on this, if not this will be forgotten fast, I hope not!
    Man, I can’t get over this…… WOW!

  20. ray

I am really impressed with Rep. Cowen…..and wrote him to say so…..hope you will

  21. J.W.

It is, to me, an absolutely stunning fact, that the racist ramblings of Harry J. Anslinger, over seventy years ago, are still accepted as the law of the land.

  22. ChrisfromTN

Gosh. I’m rather proud of the Congressman. I’m proud because he made perfect sense, and he’s from Tennessee. Thanks to Rep. Cohen and to all the people that wrote to him. Yep. It kinda sounded like he was on the peoples’ side.

Didn’t the FBI just go on record by saying that he couldn’t name a single person that had died from marijuana? Isn’t that a quotable? Hell, isn’t the whole interview a quotable now? Hehe… I enjoyed that vid.

  23. fallibilist

This guy’s the new Ron Paul. Not bad!

  24. Jillian

you’re right mr reuben, I guess it’s official now. There’ve been NO deaths from marijuana in the entire history of mankind.

  25. mr reuben

I’m surprised the FBI guy didn’t even hesitate to say there are no deaths from marijuana. Great Video

  26. Jillian

I just hope Congressman Cohen’s colleagues get to watch the video.

Many of them know nothing about marijuana but are willing to steadfastly vote against its legalization while they have the opportunity.

  27. Urb Age

I agree Russ, this one is a biggie. Why cant this one be on CNN or Rush Limbaughs show? This needs to be played for the masses. Good people of Tennessee, write him and tell him you appreciate his representation of your state.

  28. Fidget Truittelli

Damn straight… I like that guy. He seemed to know that Marijuana should be legal.
