Five new DEA raids on California Dispensaries

Five new DEA raids on medical marijuana dispensaries in the Los Angeles area, contrary to the views expressed by President Obama on the campaign trail. Protest at LA Fderal Bldg. tomorrow at Noon. Details below:
California NORML has confirmed reports of 5 DEA raids in LA today. Contrary to rumor, no doctor’s office was raided. The raids were all “smash and grab” operations: agents took medicine and money, destroyed surveillance cameras and grabbed computers, but did not arrest anyone. The professionalism of the operations was questionable. In one case, agents reportedly failed to leave a written receipt for cash that was seized. No rhyme or reason was apparent in the selection of targets, other than they were in the same neighborhood.
Agents gave no reason for the raids other than that marijuana is still illegal, but apparently suggested that they wanted to act fast before receiving new orders. California NORML believes that recent DEA conduct resembles nothing more than legalized piracy, and calls on supporters to remind President Obama of his pledge to end DEA raids.

Raids began around 11 am and continued until around 1:30-2:00 pm.
Several collective operators have commented to me that DEA agents were extremely destructive in their searches today. Security cameras were not only removed by DEA agents but were then literally smashed by the agents into many pieces. Pure violent destruction.
While agents removed computers and electronics from most of the collectives one operator reports that his computer hard drive was removed and smashed by DEA agents.
Just another day of smash and grab robberies and destruction by the DEA.
