I had just posted the story below on the British milkman when I came across FOX News’ coverage of it. Check the final paragraph of their four paragraph blurb:
FOXNews.com – Milkman Played Doctor, Sold Pot to Elderly for ‘Aches and Pains’ – Health News | Current Health News | Medical News
Although several U.S. states, including California, allow marijuana to be sold for medicinal purposes, studies on whether its an effective pain-reliever have been conflicting. A 2007 study published in the journal Anesthesiology found that too much marijuana actually makes pain worse.
Studies have been conflicting? So where is the mention of the three separate studies this year alone showing inhaled cannabis to be a superior pain remedy for neuropathic pain, a condition difficult to treat with opiates? Or how about the studies showing combined use of cannabis and opiates seem to boost the analgesic effects of the opiates and reduce the dosage of opiates needed?
And then the study you cite to show the “conflict” between the “several” (is “thirteen” too hard to count?) states that recognize cannabis treatment for pain is a study that showed use of moderate potency cannabis to be successful at reducing pain.
FOX News, when you go for the whole “Fair & Balanced” angle, remember that fact does not require fiction for balance.
