Groovin’ Thursday: B-Real – “Fire”

B-Real 'Smoke N Mirrors'B-Real and Cypress Hill have been a staple of pot culture since the album ‘Black Sunday’ premiered in 1993 with tunes like “Hits From the Bong” and “I Want to Get High”.  With success comes the opportunity for solo projects to emerge and B-Real has taken his opportunity with the ‘Gunslinger Mixtapes I, II, and III’, and with his recent full album release, ‘Smoke N Mirrors’.  The first single off that album is fittingly named “Fire” and features Damien Marley, the youngest seed of the man himself, Bob Marley.  B-Real has a massive list of compilations available and has worked with more artists than are possible to list here.  I’ve also heard rumors of a “Super-Pot Group Compilation” with the Kottonmouth Kings, Potluck, and Cypress Hill called the ‘Kannabis Kartel’.  Cypress Hill broke off ties with Sony Records after the release of their last album and they will release a brand new album very soon called “Rise Up”, but as far as I know they are still looking for a label to release it.  There are rumors that Subnoize Records is the label to do it.  Subnoize already is the main label of Sen Dog, the other half of The Hill.  You can expect to hear a track our two from the new record on the NORML Daily Audio Stash.   For now enjoy the latest from B-Real “Fire”.  And, if you would like to email me you can toss anything to JohnDoe@JohnDoeRadio.com.  Good times.

I am the host of The John Doe Radio Show podcast, and the S.A.F.E.R. Podcast on the THC Media Network and www.JohnDoeRadio.com. I have been directly involved in reform since 2007 in Colorado and created the show in January of '07 to support medical marijuana patients all over the nation in their decision to use marijuana. Later in the year of '07 on my Birthday October 18th, I was raided by a drug enforcement task force for growing, and selling medical marijuana to an unqualified patient. She posed as a friend and someone who was legal, and in reality was working off a drug charge herself for law enforcement. In October of 2009 an arresting officer in my case, and the first through the door with an MP5 machine gun pointed at me was arrested on tow felony counts, and also gave information about current investigations and targets of the drug task force during the time of my case to a person on probation from a bust who he was sleeping with. There is a lot more to the story including me being the only felon in the country to have marijuana and all supplies in the grow ordered back to them upon conviction because of my medical marijuana legal status at the time. The great Rob Corry is working on overturning the plea in my case. I am a drug felon and a victim of the Drug War. I made a mistake but not one that should even be a possibility to make under sensible legislation. Let's end this senseless persecution. Any questions feel free to ask.
