One of my favorite songs has become “Get It Anyway” from Cypress Hill because of the message of the song. A large part of Cypress Hills latest album ‘Rise Up’ consists of positive messages of rising up and overcoming the larger obstacles in front of us. Of course an album from Cypress Hill also contains that west coast gangster touch that marinates in a cloud of Kush smoke.
Cypress Hill has continued to be on the front line of Cannabis awareness and supporting opportunities of change. Recently, as many stashers know they hosted the Smokeout Festival where the first sanctioned area for medical Cannabis use at a concert was established.
I also chose this particular song this week because no matter what happened this week with Cannabis initiatives at the ballot, We Get It Anyway. We know we have won the war and we know we are on the right side of history. Its been echoed that its not a matter of ‘If’ anymore but a matter of when. This couldn’t be more true to the situation at hand, and you should hold your head up high knowing you are part of a movement in this nation that will one day have the possibility to not only change our laws, but also change the entire fabric of what our country is made up of. Keep fighting, and showing up to rallies and talking to your representatives. With you we will succeed, and we will ‘Get It Anyway’.
