Late breaking news from the middle of the Pacific…
Good News!
We just received word that both chambers have voted to override the Governor’s veto of SB1058 which sets up a taskforce to discuss changes in Hawaii’s Medical Marijuana Program. Thanks to all of you who made phone calls, sent emails and faxes.
When the official vote is posted, we will let you know who voted “no.” There were nine of them.
We will also ask you to thank legislators for taking this important action and later, we will need to keep pressure on the Dept. of Public Safety to be sure they convene the taskforce.

I am the host of the NORML SHOW LIVE and The NORML Stash Blog. I'm married, live in Portland, Oregon, and I am a registered medical marijuana caregiver in this state. I've worked days as an IT geek and nights as a professional musician. Previously, I have been the host of my own political talk radio show on satellite radio. I've been the High Times "Freedom Fighter of the Month" for my work producing Oregon NORML's TV show, "A Cannabis Community Forum", and for helping to institute Portland's wildly successful medical marijuana cardholders meetings, where we help sick and disabled Oregonians acquire cannabis plant starts, learn gardening, and understand the medical marijuana law. I've dedicated my life to bringing an end to adult marijuana prohibition and re-legalizing cannabis hemp, and I'm honored to be chosen by NORML to be our daily voice.
You’re right Russ…thanks
Now, now, no need for the ad hominem. Prohibitionist’s brains are what we make fun of here, not their looks.
Except Rush Limbaugh. Fuck him.

Hang ten Hawaii, chaca bras!
Hooray!
Great News!…the will of the people is bigger than Gov. Linda Lingle’s nose.
Ho, brah, big news! I called most of my old burning buddies in HI and told them to write their state reps about this a couple of weeks ago. I’m glad the legislature went around the governor with this. Take that, Lingle!
This is very very good! Unfortunatley, it was only a study, which is laughable to have been vetoed… at least some people have sense.
I’ve met alot of great people from Hawaii. I love their chocolate covered macadamia nuts! Mmmmm! :)
Woohoo Hawaii! Because you never know when one of us will win the lottery and have enough to retire there!
