I am the producer of The NORML Network, the host of the NORML SHOW LIVE and The NORML Stash Blog, and NORML's Outreach Coordinator. I'm married, live in Portland, Oregon, and I am a registered medical marijuana caregiver in this state. I've worked days as an IT geek and nights as a professional musician. Previously, I have been the host of my own political talk radio show on satellite radio. I've been the High Times "Freedom Fighter of the Month" and I travel across the country to educate people on marijuana reform. I've dedicated my life to bringing an end to adult marijuana prohibition and re-legalizing cannabis hemp, and I'm honored to be chosen by NORML to give voice to the Marijuana Nation and to speak for those who can't speak up.

As for the growers going “out of business” – The real money for a “home grower” would be in breeding, which many people already do under prohibition with some success. The US and Canada have very well established plant patent processes (I am sure other countries do as well but I am unfamiliar with them), and just like it is applied to agricultural and ornamental plant varieties, it could easily be applied to cannabis… and they (the patents) last 20 years. In the end, the patent holder ends up being much better off than the nurseries/greenhouses and suppliers. The actual product (cannabis plants and/or flowers) would be relatively inexpensive to produce and sell just like any other horticultural industry that isn’t mindlessly pursued by the DEA and Law Enforcement. In addition to the connoisseur market mentioned by Russ.

This is a great article, more people need to realize the HUGE amount of jobs to come with this industry.

and with truth comes convincing lies. although the lies are losing their touch, the “think about the snot nosed children” angle never fails.

best example: lets ban gay marriage before gay people can teach children how to have butt sex!
