Rep. Clel Baudler’s fib to Californians about having hemorrhoids to obtain a medical marijuana prescription will be the focus of an ethics complaint considered tomorrow by a legislative committee.
(Des Moines Register) The complaint was filed by Des Moines resident Mike Pesce, who says Baudler broke California law that forbids people from fabricating information to obtain a prescription.
Baudler did not fill the prescription. He said conducted the stunt last year to demonstrate what he believes are abuses of California’s medical marijuana laws.

Baudler declined to comment today about the issue, saying he would wait until after the ethics committee rules. In a written response to the House Ethics Committee he said he believes the complaint fails to allege facts and circumstances necessary for a valid complain and that it additionally does not establish a violation of Iowa’s ethics code.
The meeting begins at 11:45 a.m. Thursday in room 102 of the Capitol.

These prohibitionists sure have some Balls, they complain about the medical laws, how easy to get cards and medicine then chose to do just that lie to get a card or meds and then say how bad the laws are. How about this, make a law that says if you lie to get a card then you go to jail, seems to me there are more people that hate the marijuana laws that have lied to get cards and meds than citizens doing the same. How about arresting these people for false paperwork or pulling a scam and leave the sick alone.
