DJ Skuddy
This Irie Wednesday brings a buoyant electronically inspired track by Sweden’s DJ Skuddy. There isn’t much information to be found about this artist — it appears he is as underground and DIY as they come. On his YouTube page, 20-year-old Skuddy paints himself as a multigenre mixmaster and DJ who mashes together bits of reggae, electro, progressive house, happy hardcore, hip hop and more. The result is something that, strangely, leaves an irie feel.
He states explicitly that his interest is “la musica,” and clearly, if one checks out his videos, he loves the herb as well. I look forward to seeing what this young man will be putting out 20 years from now… But you don’t have to wait to hear him.
A number of Skuddy cuts can be heard and seen on YouTube and on his MySpace page. And one of his reggae – dancehall tunes is included on the 2007 Black House Music compilation album Bokodji Riddim, which is available through iTunes. We have it for you today on NORML Show Live: DJ Skuddy and “Canabis.”
