I am the producer of The NORML Network, the host of the NORML SHOW LIVE and The NORML Stash Blog, and NORML's Outreach Coordinator. I'm married, live in Portland, Oregon, and I am a registered medical marijuana caregiver in this state. I've worked days as an IT geek and nights as a professional musician. Previously, I have been the host of my own political talk radio show on satellite radio. I've been the High Times "Freedom Fighter of the Month" and I travel across the country to educate people on marijuana reform. I've dedicated my life to bringing an end to adult marijuana prohibition and re-legalizing cannabis hemp, and I'm honored to be chosen by NORML to give voice to the Marijuana Nation and to speak for those who can't speak up.

For those 58,000 members in the system at Harborside, will all of those patient files now be exposed to the IRS and the federal government? What happened to patient privacy? If so, they have access to a huge list of patients and can now go after the patients as well, no? Oy vey…

Thanks for the kind words McD. On second reading my post left me sounding somewhat defeatist. Heh heh, far from it! My morale is high as long as there is an organized and civil forum upon which we can speak freely. As long as we have that, victory is inevitable!

Yes, it is a problem and the problem has spread all over the world like a virulent pox, but take heart; it is in the process of changing. Try not to sink too deeply into depression over it. It’s not you, it’s not just America and it’s not going to be like this for very much longer.

There is some irony in that Al Capone spent time in Alcatraz, in the Bay area, for tax evasion.

    Egad, the IRS.
Isn’t it funny that the US seems relatively impotent against private interests until their taxes start looking screwy…
Who knows how many people died at the behest of Al Capone and yet the FBI remained powerless to stop him…but he messes up his taxes and suddenly he’s behind bars…
