i think that the health care folly a doux's are what is making us wait . here in oregon and the rest of the nation. i smoked it when i was a kid and threw the anerexia it helped and bulima it helped becuase it held the food down. it was a sleep aid as well. but the dr.s selection and not natrolized selection is what has duluted the nation to thank it is bad the truth be told that my husband and i would rather smoke than draink and it is less harmful then alcohol. doctors won't be able to profit as much as they could with there chemicals that cause you to keep going back to them . it is a natural product and i hate chemicals . that is why i went to all nateral products but i can't get a card even for ptsd and depression but it works when the drugs made me 10 times more depressed and flip threw flash backs it helps the flash backs and temperally releaves stress due to those simptems but here in mac oregon i can't even get a card becuase i don't qulify . so evry now and then i know people who grow it and i will smoke it illagally but now one will ever catch it in my system pure is the way to go .

We moved from Calif. 6yrs ago to Arkansas, due to finances and wanted less neighbors. Believe or not, 99.9% of the so-called conservative right wingers here, that we have met are more concerned about effects of meth and Alcohol ,than Medical MJ . These same Folks would vote to legalize it, and agree it is a waste of Law enforcement's time and money to aggressively pursue these Mj arrests. If CA and other States let down the pressure to Finally Re -legalize all Hemp now , then we have missed the window of opportunity -Keep on Keepin on .

Oregon has not received enough signatures. As of May 5th we only had 4014 of 125000. So if you live in Oregon I urge you to volunteer to collect signatures so I can keep a 3 month supply of weed without being locked up.

Historically (see Raich v. Gonzales) it has been the conservative, GOP-appointed Supreme Court Justices who have supported the state-level ability to legalize drugs, not the Democratic-appointed ones.

...which is interesting, because most drug legalization supporters seem to generally vote Democratic.

The fight here mostly comes down to a states-rights and individual-versus-government fight, not a social values fight.

I wouldn't wait until 2012 either, because I think at least one of these initiatives will pass. Most likely the one in California will pass, but as a resident of Oregon, I have high hopes for our state as well. I know that Oregon would definitely follow California in their decision to legalize if nothing else. Oregon wants to legalize it, and most know that it's a positive plant.

I for one think that Oregon will legalize next year, as well as California.
