The Minnesota House Public Safety Policy and Oversight Committee voted 9-6 in favor of H.F. 292, the medical marijuana bill. This was the toughest committee the bill had to face in the House, and we are now closer than ever to protecting seriously ill Minnesotans from arrest and prison for using their doctor-recommended medicine. We can expect to see the bill on the Senate and House floor within weeks, so it is crucial that your state legislators know you strongly support this bill. Please take a moment to contact them now and convey the importance of protecting the sick and dying in Minnesota

I am the host of the NORML SHOW LIVE and The NORML Stash Blog. I'm married, live in Portland, Oregon, and I am a registered medical marijuana caregiver in this state. I've worked days as an IT geek and nights as a professional musician. Previously, I have been the host of my own political talk radio show on satellite radio. I've been the High Times "Freedom Fighter of the Month" for my work producing Oregon NORML's TV show, "A Cannabis Community Forum", and for helping to institute Portland's wildly successful medical marijuana cardholders meetings, where we help sick and disabled Oregonians acquire cannabis plant starts, learn gardening, and understand the medical marijuana law. I've dedicated my life to bringing an end to adult marijuana prohibition and re-legalizing cannabis hemp, and I'm honored to be chosen by NORML to be our daily voice.
Hello, I am currently 31 years old and have suffered from a strong form of epilepsy for 5 years now. It’s gotten so bad now that the seizures happen so often I had to have a device implanted into my chest which is hooked up to my vagal (spelling?) nerve and gives me a small shock every 5 minutes whether I have a seizure or not…. And the times that I do have a seizure, I’m supposed to wave this magnet that I’ve got to carry around constaintly over my chest, and then puts out a major charge which actually hurts, and even then doesn’t do a damn thing, at least not in my opinion.
Though I must admit, my mother does say that it’s helping me, and I get to live with my parents, which is ever-so fun when you’re a 31 year old man…. And one who isn’t allowed to work, or drive.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my parents, but still, if I didn’t have medicinal marijuana, I wouldn’t be able to sleep because of all of the other medicine I take, and yes, it helps with living with my parent’s as well….
Thanx, J.W. Conrad
