The mainstream media is starting to ask questions…
WASHINGTON — A recent Drug Enforcement Administration raid on a South Lake Tahoe, Calif., medical marijuana dispensary showcases one of the legal conflicts inherited by the Obama administration.
“I think the basic concept of using medical marijuana for the same purposes and with the same controls as other drugs prescribed by doctors (is) entirely appropriate,” Obama told Oregon’s Mail Tribune newspaper in March. “I’m not going to be using Justice Department resources to try to circumvent state laws on this issue.”
By one count, the DEA has raided more than 60 medical marijuana facilities nationwide during the past two years, including a July raid in Seattle in which agents seized hundreds of patient files. The ongoing raids underscore a running conflict between state and federal laws.
One week and counting, Mr. Obama, with not even a word about this issue. We’re not going away, and if there’s anything you’ve taught us, it is that we yes we can work together to bring about real change.
You needn’t distract from any other important business. Name a new head of DEA and ONDCP, instruct them to leave medical marijuana states alone, get on with other business. We know you’ve got tough problems on your plate that require you to build consensus and create complex solutions. That’s why your silence and inaction are so frustrating — you don’t need consensus, more than 3 out of 4 Americans support medical marijuana, and you don’t need to create anything, you just need to stop doing something.
It’s like hitting your thumb with a hammer. Just stop hammering.

Obama is lost in space. I don’t think he can cope with what comes at him in that office. He lets other people push their own agendas and we end up with policies that could have come from the Bush era. I am seriously considering switching to republican status so I can vote for Ron Paul in the primaries. Have I lost my mind?
It’s not just Oama, there are a lot of other people that NEEDs
If they can’t help us anymore than this!
it be removed from office! It’s a waste of our TAX dollars.
They should let the states decide, at least it HELP balance
thier BUDGET!! That’s what congerss does’t want todo. VOTE THEM
ALL OUT
I GUARANTEE I will not vote for him again unless he follows through on this issue! How many LIES can we as a country take from one man who promised so much and has delivered so little? If he wants a second term, he better start making good on all of the “change” he promised. The war on drugs is a complete failure. Fake the Wuck UP!!

Thanks for sharing your story, I think a lot of people are disappointed with the president and it may cost him next elections.
I am a 62 year old man. A malformed spine caused me to develop compressive neuropathy. The nerves in my hands and feet are dying and they scream in pain every second of the long, long time it takes to die. I am taking some real fun drugs–morphine, Fentanyl, Lyrica, Cymbalta and a couple of others. All of these meds are downers and I hate downers. They have stolen my life away. This disease will be with me until the day I die [I told you it takes a long, long time for nerves to die in an otherwise healthy man] I have been fortunate to be provided with medical marijuana every once in a while from some kind fellow who grows it for his father.
Cannabis kills a large portion of the pain without leaving me a zombie like the morphine does. It also helps a lot with the depression that would normally occur in someone like myself when facing this future, a future with no hope of a cure, they can only slow down the process as much as possible. My feet are useless blocks of wood and my hands will be going next.
I do not tell you this for your sympathy, shit happens and I just got dealt a bad hole card. So it goes. I relate my situation so that I may inquire just what kind of man would refuse me the cannabis or arrest anyone who attempted to aid me? A Chicago politician, that’s who. Please do not vote for that man ever again. I would consider it a personal favor.
