Diaz is not only a fighter, he is a world class athlete who competes in other sports as well, notably triathlons. Through hard work and determination he has lifted himself from an impoverished background to become an icon in the fastest growing sport in the world. Nick Diaz never claimed to be a role model, but he is, because he is honest, hard working, and doesn't change himself to fit the publicity desires of sponsors or promoters. Diaz is for real, and his pot smoking is only an issue because the media and Athletic Commission make it one. Leave the man alone to do what he does...entertain millions by being arguably the most exciting fighter in the WW division, and if he wants to burn one instead of poisoning himself with alcohol like many fighters do after a win, I'll be the first to twist one up.
