Music: Don Nix – “One Step Ahead of the Blues”

I Don't Want No Trouble

Welcome to Blue Monday, Stashers. We have some great blues today from artist, DON NIX and his guitar-heavy rock and roll blues song, “One Step Ahead of the Blues”. Don is a writer, producer and kick-ass blues man whose music has been recorded by Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Lee Hooker, Deep Purple and Pearl Jam. As a producer he has worked with artists Leon Russell, Gary Lewis, John Mayall and George Harrison. He collaborated with Harrison and Russell in the production of the star-studded 1971 benefit, The Concert for Bangladesh. Indeed, Don Nix has been a key figure in several genres of Southern blues and was instrumental in the creation of the trademark “Memphis Soul”. Today’s track comes from his 10th and latest album that he self-produced,  “I Don’t Want No Trouble” recorded in 2007 in Memphis. I know what keeps me one step ahead of the blues, and I certainly don’t want no trouble enjoying that!
