On today’s Stash we get a little “nerdcore hip-hop” from MC Frontalot. This is what happens when you allow nerds to have too much time with computers and electronic instruments!
Frontalot’s been covered in Newsweek, Wired Magazine, and the UK Independent, and according to his web bio, “MC Frontalot was born Malcolm Colby Frontovich in a Kansas storm cellar in 1973. The fronting has increased exponentially since. Ten years of rap stardom, fourteen world tours, and twenty-seven platinum albums find MC Frontalot threatening retirement. His legion of fans will sob quietly to themselves.” The guy’s got a great sense of humor, judging by the rest of the Q&A in his FAQ section.
A Stash listener named Max turned me on to MC Frontalot by forwarding to me this song “Mountain Kind” from his well-stocked MP3 download section. MC Frontalot’s new album is called “Secrets from the Future” and is also avaliable at his website, frontalot.com. It’s the revenge of the nerds!
