Music: Mojo Morgan – “Herbsman Anthem”

You know what I haven’t featured yet, my fellow Stasherinians? Reggae. That’s right, one of the most ganja-influenced forms of music on the planet and I have yet to play a single song of it. I feel kind of ashamed, to be honest. So let me rectify that by playing “Herbsman Anthem” by Brooklyn reggae artist Mojo Morgan.
Morgan is originally from the band Morgan Heritage, which formed in the 80s and had many reggae hits in the 90s onward. They toured all across the world, including sold-out stadiums in Senegal, Gambia, and Mauritius. Their most recent reggae hit is “Nothing to Smile About.”
Mojo has decided to take a solo route and if “Herbsman Anthem” is any indication, he will continue to be successful in the reggae genre, as he splices together his personal influences, including rock’n'roll and hip hop. The track also features vocals by the uber-legendary, late, great Peter Tosh, and if you don’t know who Peter Tosh is, thenI seriously question your status as a marijuana activist.
You can listen to more of Mojo’s music on his myspace page.
