It’s difficult sometimes coming up with music every day for the Stash. When I’m stuck without a tune I will often just go to various music sites on the web and type in “pot” or “ganja” or “marijuana” just to see what comes up.
So today I typed in “grass” and I found a band called “The Grassmasters”. A-ha! I thought, a treasure trove of grass-related music!
Turns out, though, that they are referring to bluegrass, the music, not grass, the herb. But having known a few bluegrass musicians in my time to be fond of the other kind of grass, I dug deeper. And I’m glad I did.
The Grassmasters are a bluegrass band that covers other styles of music as bluegrass. They’ve got bluegrass Bob Marley, bluegrass Simon & Garfunkle, bluegrass Johnny Cash, bluegrass Aerosmith, and bluegrass Grateful Dead! Who knows, maybe someday they’ll cover some bluegrass Kottonmouth Kings?
There were plenty of tunes I could’ve chosen, but I think “Paint it Black” by the Rolling Stones will do for today. I got “grass” and “Stones”, how much more cannabis-friendly can we get?
