Oh man, I knew this job was going to have its perks. After wading through countless hundreds, nay, thousands of reggae and hip-hop/rap songs that all sounded pretty much the same, I finally find a gem, a raucous punk song called “Internet is Just Bad Pot” from a band called Thomas Jefferson Slave Apartments. First off, what a great band name. Secondly, what a great track name! This song has the best analogy ever. The Internet is just bad pot! If you’ve ever spent hours upon hours mindlessly navigating through page after page after page, checking your e-mail again and again because you’ve got nothing better to do, you’ll probably agree with me.
I can only assume surfing the internet after smoking bad pot makes it twice as worse!
TJSA was a big part of the Columbus, Ohio music scene in the 1990s. This album, “No Old Guy Lo-Fi Cry” (brilliant), was released in 2000, but is gaining new attention due to its recent digital re-release in 2007.
I know, I know … most of the time you wanna smoke to settle down, right? Well every once and a while you just gotta rock. So rock it out today, Stashers!
