Variety Tuesday brings us the award winning group Herbal Nation, who combine serious funk jams with a healthy hit of pro-hemp awareness.
Herbal Nation won the 2007 MassCann/NORML Awards ‘Best Head Music’. The group’s first full length CD “Herbal Nation” won ‘Album of Year’ in both 2006 Global and American Marijuana Music Awards! Check out the link to Steve Bloom’s article about the group’s win in our blog.
Founded in 1995 by drummer and producer ‘Stumpy’, Herbal Nation is made up of killer players from throughout the Northeast US.
The Herbal Nation CD features Jeff Watkins, saxophonist for the Godfather of Soul himself, James Brown, as does today’s song “We Love the Herb”, which won both 2006 Global and American Marijuana Music Awards Song of Year!
Herbal Nation are strongly represented in the marijuana movement, the group have been featured in High Times Magazine and performed at many marijuana events including High Times Cannabis Cup, 2006 Stony Awards and 2007 American Marijuana Music Awards event.
