The utter hypocrisy, injustice, and lies from our government about cannabis are the fuel firing my passion and NORML's kind hosting of my news posts and rants gives me an outlet for that passion. I’ve had my medical marijuana card for nearly a year now. When first got it I thought there were dispensaries. Have not inhaled any pot since I got the card. Burton is not too far from Clio, maybe I’ll take a drive up there to get my smoke. It is soo stupid, they pass out these cards with no information how to get the seeds/pot. I guess you have to break the law to get the stuff, so what’s the sense of these cards anyway? Just more revenue for Michigan. I’ll be hanging out in Clio alot! It would be nice to be in California, intrested to see if legalization passes in November.

Another Clio resident. I voted for medicinal use, and I know more than a few who did just the same.

Apparently we’re still criminal scum, though. What a cruel bitch of a mistress Democracy can be, these days.

    I also live in Clio
I think honestly ive smoked with people here in all different ages and if we were to vote as a town, it would be totally majority vote that itd be pro-marijuana..

    I live in Clio.
Nearly every single person I know who lives here smokes pot. If you buy weed- you’re probably getting it all from the same person.
We have a huge park with a skate park in it, a veterans memorial, and a clock park. Downtown Clio has bars and coffee shops, all within walking distance to the park. It’s actually one of the safest towns around, despite being close to both Flint and Saginaw. I honestly can’t recall the last huge crime in Clio. Those who sway the votes of Clio’s legislation don’t even live in the town itself. Outside of the city’s limits are huge homes, with rich inhabitants, whose religion and social status turn a blind eye to Marijuana.

If you ask me- Clio is the PERFECT place to have a dispensary.
If the City is going to ban Medical Marijuana- its citizens should at least strive to make Marijuana the city police’s LOWEST priority, effectively decriminalizing it. I’ve seen too many friends get screwed over just because of a little pot.

I’m calling out to NORML to help freedom-fighters in Clio!

Didn’t courts already rule that they can’t do this? I believe the ruling was related to Montebello, CA where the courts even ruled that the city had to return grow equipment and marijuana to the man that they confiscated it from. The city refused and is having contempt charges filed against it. The supreme court actually refused to review the city’s appeals.

The court of appeal ruled that “it is not the job of the local police to enforce the federal drug laws.”

Can’t we infer from rulings like this that it is also not the job of city officials to enforce these laws? I am so upset at officials like this, ESPECIALLY after reading the story of Stephanie Whitting in an earlier post. Leaders who are inflicting this sort of pain on their constituents should be rounded up and burned at the stake. Sometimes I really feel like America needs a mass uprising to remind the politicians that they work for US. I cannot even begin to convey the disgust and frustration I feel toward our country’s leadership. It has brought me to tears on more than one occasion.

I’m not advocating any type of physical violence or disruption. I’m just trying to articulate the level of my frustration at all of this. It really is so unfair.

“Missed” Clio says, “it would block medical marijuana businesses because federal law bans marijuana”.

No it ditent! Mr. DEA only comes if it violates both state  AND federal law.

Get with the program “Missed” Clio. Mich-e-ganers voted FOR MMJ.
