Leon Festinger in 1957 wrote about Cognitive Dissonance Theory with the inconsistent data producing motivated thought to dispel conflict. You can change your mind toward the facts ,or you create ‘sour grapes’ which is the epitome of the concept. Can’t get your grapes,so now they are no good/sour.
