NORML’s “Radical” Russ on MarijuanaRadio.com

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009 at 9:59 am | By: Radical Russ

Paul, McKenna, and DanK invited me on last night’s live MarijuanaRadio.com broadcast and we had a lot of fun.  MJRadio is, shall we say, a bid more ribald than the Stash (if we’re “NPR for stoners”, then they are the “Howard Stern show for stoners”, let’s say) so I adjusted my radio personality accordingly.  We talked about (what else?) Michael Phelps and the Daily Audio Stash.

The only strange question that threw me for a loop was when McKenna asks, “So, were you born with your radio voice?”  I wanted to throw on what I call the “monster trucks” voice and say, “Yes, McKenna, when I came out of the womb I turned to my mother and said, ‘This Sunday, Sunday, SUNDAY!!! We’ll sell you the seat to see Russ Belville born, but you’ll only need the edge!  Bottles!  Diapers!  Baby food!  Cribs!  Get ‘em while the getting is good because tomorrow, it’s all gone!  This Sunday, Radical Russ at the Mercy Hospital!  Be There!!!’”
