PayPal won't take payment from websites that advertise LEGAL medical marijuana related products!
We reported the decision by PayPal, the online web transaction company (a.k.a. “cyberbank”), to drop California NORML’s website because of its advertising for clinics that help people qualify for medical marijuana. Well, our friends at CelebStoner.com have now been hit with a similar punishment:
According to PayPal, CelebStoner has violated their Acceptable Use Policy “regarding [the] sale of advertising related to medical marijuana, medical marijuana clinics and other violating businesses.” The same thing happened to NORML in June. So we will no longer be using PayPal and recommend that other similar companies boycott PayPal.
Has anyone other than NORML had similar experiences with Paypal and, if so, would like to join a class action lawsuit against PayPal? Please contact: editor@celebstoner.com
Sounds to me like there is an excellent entrepreneurial opportunity for someone who would run a PayPal-like online transaction service that would serve the type of legitimate companies PayPal won’t work with.

I am the host of the NORML SHOW LIVE and The NORML Stash Blog. I'm married, live in Portland, Oregon, and I am a registered medical marijuana caregiver in this state. I've worked days as an IT geek and nights as a professional musician. Previously, I have been the host of my own political talk radio show on satellite radio. I've been the High Times "Freedom Fighter of the Month" for my work producing Oregon NORML's TV show, "A Cannabis Community Forum", and for helping to institute Portland's wildly successful medical marijuana cardholders meetings, where we help sick and disabled Oregonians acquire cannabis plant starts, learn gardening, and understand the medical marijuana law. I've dedicated my life to bringing an end to adult marijuana prohibition and re-legalizing cannabis hemp, and I'm honored to be chosen by NORML to be our daily voice.
