GALLUP, N.M. – Police with the New Mexico Motor Transportation Division found 1,200 pounds of pot packed in cans labeled as spinach during a stop at the Gallup port of entry. An inspector noticed that only a few of the cans were labeled and that the weight printed on the side of the can didn’t match the actual weight. A closer look during last Friday’s bust revealed the canned drugs, which were worth an estimated $1.5 million.
The four pallets of cans were being transported along with fresh produce.
The 50-year-old truck driver said he was on his way from California to the East Coast. The driver and the pot were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Ok, I have to say…
As much as I’d love to see complete legalization of cannabis and be able to purchase all sorts of varieties in all sorts of forms, canned pot would be a sign of the end of civilization.
On the other hand, it would be nice if there was some catastrophe. Okay, I’ll order a case.

We have now moved our pot production into full swing. We have producers/processors, packagers, shippers, and consumers. Now all we need is the Government we elected to represent our needs to say our peace on capitol hill, to actually do it. Regulation and taxation, that’s what were lacking. In a time of financial crisis the country should be viewing this as a ready made cash cow ready to tap, ease the strained economy, open up jobs, end the illegal trade in Mexico and stem the drug war. The Mexican drug cartels cant wage war with no income. Lets face it President Obama, by continuing to support prohibition, you continue to support an American dollar fueled drug war. GREAT JOB US Gov.
