I am the host of the NORML SHOW LIVE and The NORML Stash Blog. I'm married, live in Portland, Oregon, and I am a registered medical marijuana caregiver in this state. I've worked days as an IT geek and nights as a professional musician. Previously, I have been the host of my own political talk radio show on satellite radio. I've been the High Times "Freedom Fighter of the Month" for my work producing Oregon NORML's TV show, "A Cannabis Community Forum", and for helping to institute Portland's wildly successful medical marijuana cardholders meetings, where we help sick and disabled Oregonians acquire cannabis plant starts, learn gardening, and understand the medical marijuana law. I've dedicated my life to bringing an end to adult marijuana prohibition and re-legalizing cannabis hemp, and I'm honored to be chosen by NORML to be our daily voice.

Instead of aggression i think we all need active, and deliberate diligence, and patience on this issue. Obviously the tide has changed in our favor, and we now have the golden opportunity to end this prohibition by talking with everyone we know and shedding the light on the truth that can no longer be suppressed. The government has ruined too many lives to get away with it any longer, we need to stand up together as one, as they did to end us, and finally end this.

everyone who has yet to lob a call to the Big O needs to do it today.

How much money is spent to sign a document saying Feds back off of the medical Marijuana dispensaries and stop using tax payers money to strong arm an ill-scheduled drug, Mr. President?

  8. Adam,WA

Tim, I think that’s easy to say when it’s not your business/livelihood. What if you relied on that medicine and you ran out today?

Yes Mr.O deserves some patients, but he is the President now and a he is responseable for the DEA now! He can stop this with the strike of a pen, now is the time to do it.

  9. Tim

Calm down, people! He hasn’t been in office a week and he’s got bigger fish to fry. Let the man get settled and get to the top priorities first. I’m sure he’ll get to the DEA once the bulk of cleaning up Bush’s mess is done. I don’t hold him responsible for this and neither should you. Let the man do his thing, okay? He’ll get to us.

I think that President Obama is the first president in a long time to have a level head on his shoulders, and this is a new advantage for the movement. I believe that the time has come for the American government to stop funding myths and lies about marijuana. We deserve to have our tax dollars used to our benefit, our agenda, not the government’s. Why should alcohol, cigaretts, and perscription pills be legal when they are the cause of death for so many people? They spend billions to promote a drug free America yet the biggest problem is not illegal but legal drugs. We hear and see of more pill related crimes than marijuana related. We need to take a stand and say enough is enough. We demand legalization now!

“NO MENTION by the Obama Administration”

No results when you searched For “DEA”.

NO news on his ONDCP picks either.

Ever think Mr.O has somthing up his sleve?
I think there may be some changes to “Federal Drug Inc.” ??NO ONDCP???NO DEA??? something.

Just waiting for the best time to bring it up??

I think we should also be calling about his lack of following through with change.gov, and listening to the people on the legalize marijuana categories. If he is so open to what the people want, why does he ignore us when we take a stand?

Yes I know there are serious issues going on in the country, but we could raise billions in tax revenue, create jobs, and not to mention save billions more not having the police and DEA arresting people for smoking or growing it! it really is a no brainer!

It won’t solve the economic crisis, but it will certainly help us as a country to rebuild, and it will help the thousands of out of work Americans and small business have steady work again, with not only marijuana but industrial hemp and all that it can do.

[...] Call or e-mail the White House and tell Obama’s staff that our new President must honor his campaign pledge not to use Justice Department resources to circumvent state medical marijuana laws. [...]

Doesn’t the DEA seem to be acting like the guards at Auschwitz in the dying days of WWII?!!

..destroying as much as they can as the war turns against them.
