Mr. Ellsworth,
As a lifelong resident of Evansville, IN, I helped elect you sheriff several times, but you will never get my vote for Congress or anything else until you drop this hypocritical and idiotic stance on marijuana. I know for a fact that our law enforcement officials have many more justifiable uses of their time and resources than punishing those who prefer to use a substance that has been proven safe for thousands of years. Not to mention our government's self-destructive attitudes towards growing industrial hemp as a viable substitute for the environmentally catastrophic petroleum and lumber industries. You are really showing your ignorance with these propagandized statements, and I am personally offended that you would insult the collective intelligence of your constituents by promoting such a self-serving, ridiculous agenda. Though I don't consider your personal views to be a negative reflection of your character as a man, I am however, compelled to question your fitness as a political figure. I will continue to advocate for the legalization of all forms of cannabis, calling for the prompt removal of any politicians who refuse to represent the voters who elected them. The truth is coming out, and every day thousands more will learn of the lies perpetuated by our government for decades. Better that you admit you are wrong now, than wait for thousands of Indiana residents to make this abundantly clear on your behalf. There is no shame in realizing your own error in judgment after weighing the scientific and anecdotal evidence available. But to continue with a failed drug control policy despite the mountains of credible research proving its ineffectiveness and undeniable contribution to the majority of our crime, well Brad, that's just unforgivable. I pray for the sake of our nation that you and others like you are never again allowed to speak for us. I am sorry, but you fail!
Respectfully,
Gina Perry, former Democrat

As a career law enforcement officer, I saw firsthand the devastating effects that illicit drug use can have on both individuals and communities. While a member of the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office, I initiated the Drug Abuse Resistance Effort (DARE) program to make children aware of the dangers posed by drug use. I made fighting drugs a top priority within the department and I will continue to do so in the United States Congress.

It sounds like this fool might actually believe his own bullshit. He obviously lacks the intellectual capacity to think for himself.
