Rob Kamibia did a terrific job. Glenn Beck comes off sounding like a d bag as usual.

  2. Urb Age says:

Painful interview…..Glen Beck has never been a favorite and still isnt!!!!!

  3. weed_smoke says:

the only reason this dude had not to legalize was its bad for you and it was shot down before he could think of a neither one so the reporter danced around the issue and repeated himself thats fox news

  4. dnL says:

Why does Glenn Beck always come off as a dysfunctional asshat?

“See that the thing, Rob. Marijuana is, you know [inaudible grunts and noises]… you know what I’m saying? :?:

Though he did succeed in making Rob Kampia look more reasonable, so I shouldn’t complain too much.

  5. ChrisfromTN says:

This is actually sort of unheard of.

Fox was joined to Bush’s (and his drug war’s)hip, but this show sort of decoupled the two a little bit. A few months ago, this type of dialogue wouldn’t appear on Fox… not like this. Maybe its going to be Glenn Beck’s thing as the resident “libertarian” at Fox. I’m not sure how libertarian he is, but he did say some things that were fairly decent.

I’m gonna have to give Beck 2/5 stars for a surprisingly decent bit of exposure for the mj issue on Fox… deductions for acting kind of goofy at times and pretending his problems are everybody else’s. Some parts were negative, but it definitely could have been worse. I thought Rob did a really good job.

I hate on ALL the cable news shows, but as far as coverage on the right is concerned, this show sort of struck me as movement toward acknowledgement or acceptance rather than fortune telling and fearmongering.

Do you guys ever remember a better mj segment on Fox before this one? I’m actually sort of encouraged a little bit.

OK, so I changed my mind. The idea of everybody marking bills has some romantic charm but doesn’t really get at the 121 people that hold the fate of AB 390 in their hands.

What every cannabis law reformer in every state and country needs to do is send as much cash as you can afford to Arnold Schwarzenegger. Mark it if you like. The address is:

    Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger
    Office of the Governor
    State Capitol
    Sacramento, CA 95814

    Get it? Spread it.

  7. Brian Kerr says:

    Let me try it again.

I think he was not lieing about his two brain cells. Luckily he used cannabis or he may have has only one brain cell left.

  8. Adam says:

    Can I be honest here?
Glen Beck is an idoit but, Rob Kampia didn’t come of (at fisrt) as a genious…He kinda just sat there and looked stoned, not sure what was going on there. Do you think GB would make it look that way on purpose?

    • Travis773 says:

I thought the same thing at first. But it was due to the delay between the audio. It is hard for a commentor to respond when it takes a few moments for the audio to come through. I think he did an amazing job when Beck actually gave him a moment to speak.

      • We face an interesting dilemma standing up for weed. I worked in radio, and my mentor told me that I had to be excited and energetic in my voice and that I could go more over the top than I would in regular conversation.

But he also said that TV was the opposite, that the slightest bit of ill-timed joke can come off as crazy (see: Tom Cruise, Oprah couch), sarcasm can come off as arrogance, strong disagreement can come off as anger, and so on.

So as a marijuana law reformer, you want to come off as credible and relaxed, but too relaxed gets you a stoner joke. Too credible comes off as humorless, but too much humor can wipe out credibility.

And then to have such a sophomoric softball as Glenn Beck mugging and eye-rolling on the other side, that’s hard not to rise to the bait and metaphorically slap that smug grin off his face.

        Rob did a good job.

        • Adam says:

when I watched this vid again, It becomes more clear that timing is responsable for Robs slow answers. I assume that MSM generaly does some editing to clean up conversations for TV. In my original comment I ask if this might have been on purpose…I think maybe, GB and his “Buds” would forget to send this interview throught the edit booth, knowing that it would make Rob sound “slow” :stoned:

          • weed_smoke says:

if you watch fox or cnn there is a
delay in sound from the reporter to the interviewed
persona this dude kept talkin and Rob Kampia was trying to hear what he had to say that is the delay

  9. PUAAN says:

How can you possibly debate with Beck’s “logic”?

His argument essentially reduces to: “screw your statistics and scientific studies. They are wrong and I know, ’cause I once knew a guy who…”

Complete with eye rolls and sophomoric pot jokes.

    Un.
    be.
    lievable.

  10. RevRayGreen says:

Glenn Beck, Hannity amd Limpbot all lack college degress, the voice of the GOP.

  11. Delia says:

Wow that was a painful 6 minutes. So Mr. Beck is saying he is a libertarian and that its ok to legalize drugs but not for the purpose of helping our economy?? What! Can you believe that there are people who only watch Fox news?

    • I kept yelling at the video, “OK, Glenn, you may have smoked pot and it was stupid for you. But Glenn, you also drank a lot of alcohol and that was stupid for you, yet you seem comfortable with legal alcohol and sin taxing it for the state.”
