Toronto, Canada is the home to many a great folk artists, so it is no surprise that todays group that includes 7 full-time and sometimes 11 Toronto folk musicians, has mastered the genre. The band is called, Entire Cities, and the arsenal of instruments they play means every song sounds different with deep complicated textures not found in your average three piece acoustic folk group. Simon Borer seems to be the front man, with vocals and a guitar, along with Andrew Bartle, Ruhee Dewji, Tamara Lindeman, David Missio, Paul Sorensen and Jimmy Lee and a junior high band room full of insturments round out the core of Entire Cities. Todays tune is a cut from their “Deep River”, an album that they put out in 2008. I have listened to every song on that album, and I want to hear more from these guys. Visit their website at entirecities.ca for a taste of the rest of their music. Plus, you can get a free wolf-boy cut out on their website…weird and wonderful, just like the band.
