Today on our Roots Monday toker tune, we get to hear some good old fashion Americana, with some home-spun reefer jazz by the band, THE TWO MAN GENTLEMAN BAND. The song to start out our week is aptly titled, “Me, I Get High On Reefer.” The two gentlemen in question are Bassist Fuller Condon and Andy Bean. It is part swing, part vaudevillian and their infections energy makes if 100% fun. Andy Bean pounds out intricate, rapid-fire chord changes and melodies on an assortment of antique 4-string guitars and banjos. Bassist Fuller Condon dances around the fingerboard with a punchy, driving style that renders a drummer unnecessary. They have played for the last three years around the country honing in the art of the live show and catching the attention of big names like Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson, for whom the Gents opened for a few shows last summer. This song is sure to be a classic on Russ’s magical music wheel that he spins before and after NORML SHOW LIVE. Check out thier website (thetwogentleman.com) for more music, comedy and to see if they are playing anywhere in your area. I guarantee you will have a great time!.
