Subject: House to Hear Testimony Next Week in Favor of Medical Marijuana
Earlier this week we wrote you about the introduction of two pieces of legislation seeking to protect medical cannabis patients in South Dakota. Today we are writing you with more good news.
Next week, members of the House Health and Human Services Committee will hear testimony on House Bill 1127, an act ”to provide safe legal access to medical marijuana for certain qualified persons.”
This hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, February 3, at 7:45am in Capitol Room 412. Please consider being present and showing your support for medical cannabis reform. You may also contact the members of the Committee here.
On Wednesday, members of the House Judiciary will also hear testimony regarding HB 1128, allowing for certain marijuana patients to present a medical necessity defense.
More more information on these hearings, please contact South Dakotans for Safe Access.
Thank you for your support of medical marijuana law reform in South Dakota.

Ahh yes, the Bison. For Iowa it would be the ‘pigs.’ There are 6 pigs to every human in Iowa. The methane they produce can be smelled from 20 miles away if the wind is right. Then there was the time the “Pork Queen” at the Iowa State Fair got pelted with livestock manure.
…..don’t forget the Bison Jeff…the Bison!
HB 1127 is DEAD. The state legislators said there are other alternatives for pain management than Medical Marijuana. Admitting that the work demand put on law enforcement would be to much. So the SD State Legislators are addressing only pain when it comes to Medical Marijuana because they do not want it to pass due to federal conflicting laws and the repercussions thereof. I guess American citizens who live in South Dakota and Iowa (among others) are simply statistics to be ignored. No humans actually live in the midwest, its just one big field of corn and wheat, hell everybody knows that..
