Thank you for contacting me regarding reforming our drug laws. I appreciate hearing your views on this issue.
I believe that it is important that we reexamine our national drug policy in this country to put greater emphasis on prevention and treatment. The President has indicated strong support for revisiting how we address drug related offenses, and I am hopeful that we can make headway on this issue. I believe that we have a chance to create a more effective national drug policy, and I will keep your comments in mind as we debate this issue in the Senate.
