It’s 8/8/08. That’s not a date, that’s a description of Thanksgiving dinner at my parents’ house. I have a fondness for these dates – we only have 9/9/09, 10/10/10, 11/11/11, and 12/12/12 left!
Today Steve Bloom is on vacation so I’m bringing you a special edition of Patient Perspectives. It’s been awhile, but from time to time I like to talk with the people who are gaining a significant medical benefit from cannabis, no matter what the Drug Czar says. Frank from Las Vegas joins us to tell his story of living with glioma (brain cancer) and treating himself with cannabis.
Also, we’re a week away from the summer peak of the cannabis community calendar, the Seattle Hempfest. Tim Pate, one of the Hempfest Core Staff and the traditional opening act of the day, joins us to preview the 37th annual largest hemp festival in the world.
I also want to invite anyone attending the Hempfest to visit me at the Oregon NORML Multimedia Booth. We’ll be showing cannabis videos all day and night, and you can pick up free flyers with tons of marijuana information. I’ll also be speaking from three different stages throughout the event and moderating a media panel in the Hemposium. Check out the Oregon NORML website for latest times and locations, or just get breaking text alerts through my Twitter updates.
