I am the producer of The NORML Network, the host of the NORML SHOW LIVE and The NORML Stash Blog, and NORML's Outreach Coordinator. I'm married, live in Portland, Oregon, and I am a registered medical marijuana caregiver in this state. I've worked days as an IT geek and nights as a professional musician. Previously, I have been the host of my own political talk radio show on satellite radio. I've been the High Times "Freedom Fighter of the Month" and I travel across the country to educate people on marijuana reform. I've dedicated my life to bringing an end to adult marijuana prohibition and re-legalizing cannabis hemp, and I'm honored to be chosen by NORML to give voice to the Marijuana Nation and to speak for those who can't speak up.

Thank you, Russ, for saying it like it is with this … thing … called Bruce Cain. He has caused a ton of problems for the hemp and marijuana community in Michigan. He does not belong to one single local organization (I asked), as no-one is up to his standards. To him, we should all belong to his group. He is not willing to work with others, as he is inflexible, accusatory, paranoid and driven by conspiracy and schizophrenic thinking.

Until this year I ran the Liberation Day event in Detroit, and just before last year’s event he somehow got someone to post his accusations of one of MI’s most excellent activists on MINORML’s email group. When he got wind of my response he left a message on my phone stating he was going to “make me sorry” on his website if I didn’t call him back and discuss the issue, as I barred him from speaking at the rally (though I couldn’t bar him from attending).

He thinks George Soros only wants to help the movement because he alone holds the key to making a type of legal industrial hemp that only he and Monsanto will hold legal patents for; endless royalties on seeds only legal from their greedy corp. holdings. He informed me NORML does nothing; and his entire attitude in my painful 1hr discussion was that anything that varied from his MERP model was bad and counterproductive, and MPP, NORML, MINORML, MIHEMP, etc., will fail if they don’t adopt his plan.

When I met him in the early ’90s, he was a valuable member of the Cannabis community. When I got back into the movement 5 years ago, he had became narrow, insulting, problem-causing, and a negative beat in the forward advancement of the movement in MI. He was AGAINST Prop 1 (med. marijuana in MI). His Dearborn rally is my final case in point. I was the Communications Director of MIHEMP at the time, and it would have been ME he would have contacted to get MIHEMP involved, which he did not do, then accused MIHEMP of not coming to his sparse rally (by stating/pointing out “see, no other group is here …” as if to insinuate WE are the problem).

Cain is not able. :dont: Russ Rocks. :rockin:

Wow, what a great opportunity to be on the show. Only one thing I wish I could have said better: I managed to make mention of ASA, but failed to mention anything about NORML. A bit of a faux pas on a NORML show, don’t you think? Sorry about that, NORML, we do love you, your site, and everything your organization is doing for the movement! Thanks for having me on the show!
