understandable I never like the idea of the liquor stores. If figured what would happen is some stores would sell just ganja and others would sell the booze. I will be in Portland in about 6 months. I will be getting involved in this.
OCTA 2010 is being re-written right now. With our original language to put pot in liquor stores, we only polled at about 40%. Part of the reason? The liquor store! A) The liquor control commission here in Oregon is known for its corruption, and B) those liquor-lovin’ people don’t want dirty dope smokin’ hippies tarnishing their pristine liquor stores.
Seriously.
So we are re-writing with a separate-but-equal cannabis store idea, pushing the economic benefits and harm reduction, and repackaging after the 2009 legislative session, which we really need to focus on currently to keep the rights we have.
What if we do it nation wide but I would dive to DC.
Russ what’s going on with OCTA 2010. I never really hear you talk about it. That’s your and my soon to be home state. I am glad I will be there in time to help out.
