If figured what would happen is some stores would sell just ganja and others would sell the booze. I will be in Portland in about 6 months. With our original language to put pot in liquor stores, we only polled at about 40%. Part of the reason? The liquor store! A) The liquor control commission here in Oregon is known for its corruption, and B) those liquor-lovin' people don't want dirty dope smokin' hippies tarnishing their pristine liquor stores. Seriously. So we are re-writing with a separate-but-equal cannabis store idea, pushing the economic benefits and harm reduction, and repackaging after the 2009 legislative session, which we really need to focus on currently to keep the rights we have. OCTA 2010 is being re-written right now. With our original language to put pot in liquor stores, we only polled at about 40%. Part of the reason? The liquor store!
