Thanks, Sunil! I often like to say I got my B.S., M.S., and Ph.D.* at the University of Hard Knox, School of Trial and Error.

(*Bullshit, more shit, and piled higher and deeper.)

About memory:

It would be good to point out that the position of the AMA in 1937 in the Congressional Record was also that there were at least two valid and one irreplaceable medical utility of Cannabis: "for psychological, psychoanalytical, and psychotherapeutic research, though only to a very limited extent." Specifically, Woodward says, "the ability of Cannabis or Indian hemp to revive old memories, and psychoanalysis depends on revivification of hidden memories."

This is an interesting memory-cannabis connection that is worth exploring further.

The incident that triggered my PTSD. I was one of the first responders and responded within a few seconds of nearly getting shot myself.

Excellent stash!

I do have a comment about my own PTSD. My time with my shrink, Patsy, was in the beginning, intense. About the only thing I could get out of my mouth for the first few sessions was... No drugs. I didn't want to take any pills for it, but I did self-medicate with cannabis.
As I spent 3 1-hour sessions per week with her and was finally able to form and speak in complete sentences (took a few weeks) I started going over and over what my brain didn't block out, (I still have some things blocked out) I started getting better. Within 2 months of this I was ready to go back to work. Patsy was amazed at how quickly I was recovering, but being cautious, she would not allow me to go back to the grind for another month.
I went back to work 3 months after the incident that triggered it... still a bit shakey, but knowing what my stressors were.
I continued with the therapy for another year and a half.
I'm starting to ramble, but, I have had a few relapses (minor) since, but I believe that my own self-medication plus the therapy got me back on my feet in good time.
I, too, am thankful for marijuana. It helped me get through the worst couple of months of my life. Marijuana kills the migraine pain, the pain of degenerative disk disease, and the aches and pains of being 53 years old with old gunshot injuries and the overall body pains of getting nearly blown up during my military career. And it ends the pain within seconds of taking a toke.
Yes, I am thankful for marijuana, and thankful that I was created (evolved) with cannabinoid receptors that make this herb... just what the doctor ordered.
