Well, that was a tremendous election night.  Nine out of ten marijuana measures passed in states, counties, and cities around the country.  A new era is dawning before us with a president of the post-baby boom generation, who readily admits to have inhaled, “that was the point”, who pledges to deal with medical marijuana as a scientific issue and cease federal raids on states that are regulating medical use.  What could the next four years hold in a new progressive administration?  Illinois, New York, New Hampshire, Minnesota, Kansas, Alabama, even Idaho will be looking at medical marijuana bills soon.  Will laws fall state after state, or will we see a radical change at the federal level (imagine – President Obama endorsing then signing HR 5843!)

Deep breath.  Be rational.  But be hopeful.

Can we legalize marijuana in our lifetime?

Yes We Can.

Did you think you’d see an African-American president in your lifetime?

Yes We Did.

Anything is possible – let’s go out and make the end of adult marijuana prohibition a reality!

As a special post-election treat, I’m debuting a NORML Exclusive – the legendary Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek appearing at the Pot Culture panel moderated by CelebStoner.com’s Steve Bloom.

Wow you thought Obama was going to be diffrent, too sad. Operation SOS is well under way with 44 arrests and 1.2 billion in crop seized in Fresno Co. alone. I checked to see who you endorsed in ‘08 and you’d have had a beter shot with McCain.

    Brainwashed Idiots.

Really? You think John McCain would be a better friend to marijuana law reform? I’m willing to allow you the forum to present your views in a rational way. Explain to me how Senator McCain would have been a better choice.

But call me “idiot” just one more time… and you go in the spam filter.
