I am the producer of The NORML Network, the host of the NORML SHOW LIVE and The NORML Stash Blog, and NORML's Outreach Coordinator. I'm married, live in Portland, Oregon, and I am a registered medical marijuana caregiver in this state. I've worked days as an IT geek and nights as a professional musician. Previously, I have been the host of my own political talk radio show on satellite radio. I've been the High Times "Freedom Fighter of the Month" and I travel across the country to educate people on marijuana reform. I've dedicated my life to bringing an end to adult marijuana prohibition and re-legalizing cannabis hemp, and I'm honored to be chosen by NORML to give voice to the Marijuana Nation and to speak for those who can't speak up.

I’m a 62 year old polio survivor. I suffer from Post Polio Syndrome. Symptoms include rotating joint pains, sleep disorders, cold feet due to muscles unable to pump blodd back to heart to warm,RLS and various other sysmptoms.
I’ve found Cannabis to be the only relief I’ve been able to get long term.

Recently, I’ve been busted for under 5 grams of pot and a pipe used to smoke it.
The total Fines and attorney fees have cost me over $1300. When I went to the hearing the Judge wanted to take my drivers license also.
Needless to say, being on SSDI the fines and cost of the attorney were almost to the extent of abusive. Since I live in a very rural town in NJ I would have been totally helpless without a vehicle.
I’ve never spent one night in my life in jail and dont even have a motor vehicle ticket in the last 30 years. I am now on Probation for the next year, will have to report semi monthly and will be charged a fee once again for every time I’m to be drug tested.

It’s time Cannabis was legal. I’m tired of looking over my shoulder and exposing myself to risk both in purchasing it and getting it into my home for use.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. This was a tough 2 minutes of public speaking. CMM-NJ has 5 people there to testify, the committee chair asked that only one of us speak…and everyone in the room was limited to 90 seconds!

Brilliantly done Chris ! Yes leave the definitions of what is medically acceptable to the department of health not a legislator who knows little (if anything) about science and medicine.

I lived in Philly for 3 yrs
I spent quite some time going to Philly Norml meetings and I have to say Chris is one of the most stand up guys you’ll ever find.
Being an MMJ user for some 20 + yrs due to various spinal cord injuries I moved to cali to take advantage of the protection provided by the Law. I simply couldn’t wait anymore, or continue to “chance” it.
I sent letters to Mark B. Cohen the Pa. state Rep. who authored the current bill in Pa. as a patient testimonial and got no response…..
    zero….ziltch….nada….not even a peep.

    Oh well……

It is my hope that one day MMJ users will no longer be PERSECUTED in this country

    pnp….Slash
