The video mentions $200-$300 for half an ounce? I have never paid that much…I was shocked recently to hear that locally, an ounce was now at $130. That’s the highest I’ve ever seen. Maybe it’s where I live, but that doesn’t make sense…although this part of the country does have just about the lowest cost of living overall…

I wish I lived where you live! Good quality bud in the metro area of MN runs about $220/half. But usually a little goes a long way when you smoke it. Im a daily toker (and more than once a day on weekends usually) and it takes me about 3 weeks to a month to smoke a quarter.

Every time they mention this subject, and speak about it with truth, then we win. We’re not going away!!!!!!! Next, Oprah! :greenmj:

  6. ChrisfromTN says:

I almost commented on this piece to say ‘thank you’ and that I agreed with the point that the message is getting out. Then I decided not to say anything because I figured that would put a hex on the whole damn thing. Finally, my message is this: “I’m not sayin’… I’m just sayin’… good post.”

  7. moldy says:

That was one of the best pieces on pot “use” (not abuse) I’ve seen without all the disclaimers and lies. As soon as few more soccer moms throw out the gin and start using a safer, more intelligent substance, we will prevail.

  8. GATOKER says:

Women who smoke kick ass! :rockin: She said it, it’s time to NORMLize it. Women paved the way to end alcohol prohibition, it’s time for history to repeat itself. Let’s hear it for the LADIES! :w00t:

  9. Winder says:

Wow. That was amazingly great news. I think we just saw the house of cards start to fall. Grab your robe Jack! (The Hemperor) I sure hope Mr. Herer comes around enough to enjoy this as much as we are. He played a big part. I just read his book, and it’s just as relevant today as it was in 1985, when I think he wrote the first edition.

The ladies are going to do it for us; put us over the tipping point like they did with the first failed prohibition in this country.

Can someone email that clip to every ear in congress? The Whitehouse? I think Barry would get a kick out of this, maybe the impetus to push through a rescheduling next year—and I believe in his second term he’ll try again where Carter failed at federal decrim or maybe even the unmentionable L word. This time the timing should be right. :goldmj:

  10. DPS3Putt says:

What? You mean these women didn’t move on to a hard core heroine habit. They didn’t steal from their family to support the crack habit that pot lead them to? Wow maybe, just maybe these gateway theories were B.S. I can’t believe that a news show is reporting honestly without the usual DEA rebuttal to the truth. Good for them. Hopefully this will start a trend.

  11. SkeezyE says:

I think it is great that we are slowly but surely seeing marijuana discussed in mainstream media. And it is a HUGE step to see its benefits openly discussed on a major national mainstream news show. We need to keep up the fight! We’re gaining ground!

  12. jhath69 says:

in a few months, we’ve gone from getting positive press in cnbc and the economist (predictable) to marie claire and the today show.

    oprah next?

    fingers crossed.

    • Mikey says:

About that…. What would we have to do to get Steve Fox, Paul Armentano and Mason Tvert on Oprah to talk about their new book. I’m not expecting it to end up on her book club, but we should really try to push to get them on there to talk to women about marijuana. I think it would help a lot and I think maybe Oprah wouldn’t be totally opposed to at least having them on.

  13. Mikey says:

I’m beyond impressed! I’m glad to see this discussed by mainstream media, and I’m glad they didn’t have a panel full of skeptics spreading lies about marijuana. If only we could get coverage like this on CNN.

  14. Mr.420 says:

Very very shocked that they let the truth come out. Also very shocked to see how many female stoners. 8million is a huge ADMITTED number. I also loved how well informed the NYU lady is on the benefits of weed and that it is different than alcohol. Also noting that alcohol along with coffee IS A DRUG!!

  15. WakeUpDead says:

OMG a main stream media outlet letting the truth be told about marijuana? Whats the catch here, they going to have Anti-pot people on tomarrow to lie, miss inform everyone and strike fear into parents?

Nice to see this and well done by all parties!

  16. I am really impressed with this video and how well they articulated the truth.
