i was just arrested thursday after i got pulled over for driving without my headlights on for a couple hundred feet. the officer said he smelled pot and did a search were he found NOTHING. then they proceeded to arrest me for a charge called drug abuse and had 4 different cop cars come to the scene. i was put in hand cuffs and taken to the station were they gave me a court date. they towed my car for $250. im pissed off if they found nothing in my car and they still arrested me isnt that illegal on the polices part? i could fight tht in court right?

It is indeed a crime, Doreal. I remember reading one story where some dudes walked into a police station wreaking like pot. They were arrested for suspicion.

It’s basically a ‘do you have money’ law. If you can afford a competent lawyer, you’ll get off. But in this case, I think they’ll try to stick it to him a later harder.

Coolest presentation award undoubtedly. I think the only way to one up this would be to bring in a mature, full grown plant. And promptly conduct a presentation on proper trimming techniques. :-P

Probably not the best image for adult legalization but got to hand it to the kid for taking the coolest highschool presentation award.

    I agree.
    - This type of behavior is
not going to gain any points
for the legalization of marijuana movement.

    - Even if it were as legal as
    tobacco and alcohol…
    - Would it be legal for a 17 year old,
    in a no-smoking area?
    (Indoor school-auditorium).

I give credit to the kid for taking a stand and for his civil disobedience. He certainly gave his teachers and fellow students a surprise ending to his essay that could not have been expected. However, this type of behavior is not going to gain any points for the legalization of marijuana movement. Unfortunately, it only strengthens the beliefs of those for the war on drugs who think criminal charges and immediate expulsion are called for in this case.

“The 17 year old was quickly arrested and taken to juvenile hall on suspicion of possession of marijuana. ”

Arrested for “suspicion of posseesion”? Really, this is possible ?
Or is this only possible because he is not considered an adult(18+) ? Does anyone know ?
