Subject: Support Medical Marijuana Compassion Centers! Legislature To Hold Hearings This Wednesday!
NORML is contacting you today to inform you that this Wednesday, March 4, both chambers of the legislature will hear testimony in favor of legislation to mandate the Department of Health to establish rules governing the licensing of non-profit compassion centers “to acquire, possess, cultivate, manufacture, deliver, transfer, transport, supply, or dispense marijuana, or related supplies and educational materials, to registered qualifying patients.”
At 4pm, the Senate Committee on Health & Human Services will hear testimony in room 212 in support of S0185, and the House Committee on Health Education & Welfare will hear testimony in room 135 in favor of H5359.
If you have not already done so, please take time today to contact your elected officials and urge them to support these efforts. If your politicians sit on either the Senate Committee on Health and Human Services or the House Committee on Health Education & Welfare, it is especially important that they hear from you.
For your convenience, a pre-written letter will be e-mailed to your state elected officials when you visit here.
If you would like more information about these measures, or if you wish to attend this week’s hearings, please contact the Rhode Island Patient Advocacy Coalition at: http://ripatients.org.
Thank you for supporting NORML’s marijuana law reform efforts in Rhode Island.
